Episode 111 features Max Williams of Walt Whitman High School as the rising senior joins Kurt & Chelsie from the Capitol Hoops Summer League.
As a key contributor to a Whitman program that has reached the state championship game in back-to-back seasons, Williams has continued to elevate his game through hard work, dedication and countless hours in the gym. Now entering his senior year, Max has his sights set on helping the Vikings make another deep postseason run and take one more shot at a state title.
Williams reflects on his journey to Whitman, sharing how he was welcomed into the school community as a sophomore and why the program has become more than just a basketball team... it has become family. He discusses the culture that drives Whitman's success, the expectations that come with competing at a championship level and the lessons learned from playing on some of the county's biggest stages.
The conversation also highlights Max's maturity and perspective, as he explains why basketball is just one part of a much bigger picture. Poised, thoughtful and focused on the future, Williams understands that success extends beyond the court and into the relationships, character and opportunities that the game can provide.
