Episode 113 welcomes Kevin McLinton Jr. to the DMV Hoops Podcast as the rising standout joins Kurt & Chelsie live from the Capitol Hoops Summer League, fresh off a victory over Magruder High School.
The son of Springbrook state champion and former University of Maryland standout Kevin McLinton Sr., Kevin discusses the influence his father has had on his basketball journey and the lessons he's learned from growing up around the game. He also shares what it's like playing under longtime coach Bruce Kelly and how the Bulldogs continue to build a culture centered around toughness, accountability and winning.
With summer league serving as a proving ground for teams across the DMV, McLinton reflects on his goals for the remainder of the summer and what he hopes to accomplish as he prepares for the next chapter of his basketball career. He also discusses how his role has evolved following graduation losses and a key transfer departure, creating new opportunities and responsibilities for both himself and his teammates.
