Episode 114 welcomes Danny Abass of DeMatha Catholic High School to the DMV Hoops Podcast as the rising senior joins Kurt & Chelsie live from the Capitol Hoops Summer League.
As he prepares for his final season in a Stags uniform, Abass discusses the evolution of this year's DeMatha squad and the identity that is beginning to take shape. Kurt & Chelsie share their observations from summer league, noting a faster pace of play, increased defensive intensity and a roster featuring impressive size and athleticism across the floor.
Danny provides insight into the expectations that come with representing one of the most storied programs in high school basketball. He explains the responsibility that comes with wearing the DeMatha jersey, the standards established by those who came before him and the commitment required to compete at the highest level of the WCAC.
The conversation also highlights the family atmosphere within the program, as Abass reflects on the bond shared by teammates and coaches who understand the work, sacrifice and discipline necessary to succeed. With another challenging WCAC season on the horizon, the Stags are embracing the grind and preparing to meet every moment head-on.
