Episode 119 welcomes Coach TJ Veith of St. John's College High School to the DMV Hoops Podcast as he joins Kurt & Chelsie live from the Capitol Hoops Summer League.
A St. John's alum himself, Coach Veith has quickly become an important part of the basketball culture within the Military Road program. Working alongside Head Coach Patrick O'Connor, Veith has embraced the responsibility of helping develop the next generation of Cadets while maintaining the standards that have made St. John's an annual WCAC contender.
Throughout the conversation, Coach Veith discusses his journey from palyer to student to coach and what it means to return to his alma mater in a leadership role. He shares how the summer league experience serves as a critical bridge between seasons, allowing players to grow, compete, and fully understand the expectations that come with wearing a St. John's uniform.
The discussion also explores the relationship between the Gray and Scarlet teams and how continuity throughout the program remains a major priority. From player development and team culture to accountability and preparation, Veith explains how the coaching staff works to ensure that every player is connected to the larger vision of the program.
