On Episode 124 of the DMV Hoops Podcast, Kurt & Chelsie Cross welcome Rachel Johnson, rising senior at The Academy of the Holy Cross, for another DMV Live interview from Bullis School.
With the NCAA Live Period providing an opportunity to compete in front of college coaches, Rachel discusses her focus on taking the next step in her game and elevating her performance heading into her senior season. Already holding an offer from American University, she knows the recruiting process doesn't stop there... and neither does the work.
Rachel shares what it's like competing in the always-demanding WCAC, where every possession matters and even the smallest mistakes can change the outcome of a game. She talks about the intensity of the conference, the lessons she's learned, and how those experiences have helped shape her into a stronger player and leader.
Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, Rachel is excited about the direction of the Holy Cross program and believes her team is ready to continue improving, compete at a high level, and make a significant impact throughout the year.
